Season structure

Each Bundesliga club plays the other 17 sides twice — once home, once away — for a total of 34 matchdays. Matchdays span Friday night to Sunday evening with TV-driven kickoff slots. The "Sunday match" is rare in Germany; most fixtures are Saturday at 15:30 local time.

A 4-week mid-season break for Christmas / New Year is standard; the calendar resumes mid-January with a "Rückrunde" launch matchday.

Der Klassiker

Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund is played twice per Bundesliga season — once at Allianz Arena (Munich) and once at Signal Iduna Park (Dortmund). Listings open as soon as the DFL confirms the fixture date.

Resale prices for Klassiker matches are the highest in the Bundesliga — particularly when the title race is live. Expect prices to rise 50-80% in the final fortnight.

The Yellow Wall and standing terraces

Borussia Dortmund’s Südtribüne (the Yellow Wall) is the largest standing terrace in Europe — capacity ~25,000. Standing tickets are face-value capped and tightly controlled by the club; international fans typically sit in seated tiers (Nordtribüne) at face-value-anchored resale.

Bayern Munich’s Südkurve (Allianz Arena) is also a standing terrace; international fans buy in the seated upper or lower tiers via Tixticks.

Stadium and matchday notes

Allianz Arena is reached via Munich U-Bahn line U6 (Fröttmaning). Signal Iduna Park is a 15-minute walk from Dortmund Hauptbahnhof or one stop on the U-Bahn. Most German stadiums sell beer freely on the concourse.
